We know. It might seem odd to see an article with a title like this. After all, you breathe on a constant basis (we hope?). But this isn’t talking about the kind of breathing in and out that you do in order to survive. This is exploring some of the benefits that come as the direct result of breathing deeply from your diaphragm and then slowly blowing the air out through your mouth (for a count of 10).
If you’re willing to give this a try in the morning and then before going to bed at night, not only will you feel super relaxed, but you’ll be doing wonders for your physical health too!
1. Breathing deeply helps you to lose weight

Who would’ve thought that breathing deeply would help you to lose weight? But it does. Here’s how: When you take in a deep breath, hold and then release, the extra oxygen that goes into your system helps to burn excess fat quickly and more efficiently. This is a part of the reason why people who do yoga are able to tone up so fast.

In order for you to maintain optimum health, you need to release as many toxins as possible. One way to do that is by breathing deeply. According to many health studies, you can release as much as 70 percent of the toxins in your body through deep breathing. A big part of it is because when you exhale, there is less carbon dioxide in your bloodstream to go into your lungs.
3. Breathing deeply increases muscle mass
When you’re trying to get your body into shape, that consists of working out. And naturally, something you’re going to do is breathe deeply. It’s a good thing too because something else that breathing deeply does, is increase your body’s muscle mass. As you take air in and out, it sends more oxygen to your brain which, in turn, increases the cells that your muscles are comprised of.

Something that singers and dancers do before practicing is breathe deeply. It expands their diaphragm and also improves their posture. That’s a good thing because the straighter their back is, the better they are able to perform. Along these same lines, breathing deeply can do the same thing for you. When your posture is right, you can build a stronger inner core, reduce your levels of stress, decrease body aches and pains and improve your level of concentration.
